  • Just need to rant about something real quick. I recently attended my first Vertical Horizon concert. Sister Hazel was the opening act, and they blew VH away. Anyways, during VH set, they played Sweet Emotions, a classic Aerosmith song, as an outro to one of their own. WTF!! I mean, who the hell do they think they are covering a classic legendary song like that? Email me on what you think.

  • The first book written about Dave Matthews Band is ready to receive a makeover this Spring. ECW Press and author Morgan Delancey, the forces behind the original Step Into the Light, return to the DMB scene this April with the release of Dave Matthews Band: Step Into the Light (New Revised 2nd Edition). Adding detail about recent DMB happenings since the original book's release in March 1998 (including coverage of the Before These Crowded Streets album, DMB's tours and the past two live releases), the new Step Into the Light contains an extra thirty-two pages as well as five new photos. Delancey also touches on Dave Matthews' collaborations with Carlos Santana and the pre-Everyday news surrounding the new studio album, among other newer topics on DMB. The first version of the unofficial book has been the most successful of the three texts written about DMB, selling over 50,000 copies, reports the ECW Press website. Step Into the Light's second edition will carry the retail price of $16.95 with 296 pages and 71 photos. Earlybirds wanting to pre-order the book can already do so at Amazon.com.

  • Not positive on this news yet, but I got word that the next live album is due out in winter 2001. From what I know it should be 12.19.98. Check out the set list.

  • Recent certifications of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for two of Dave Matthews Band's albums have identified the Crash album as DMB's best selling release. Under the Table and Dreaming (1994) and Crash (1996) were awarded new RIAA awards on March 16, with the band's RCA debut album having sold six million units and its successor selling seven million. Until now, Under the Table and Dreaming has been the best selling album for Dave Matthews Band; both of these releases' last certifications were in October of 1997, with Under the Table... being awarded for sales of five million and Crash with only four million. With these latest certifications from the RIAA, Dave Matthews Band has sold approximately twenty-three million albums plus change from the platinum-selling Listener Supported video.
